Last day for the book give away!

School is starting and life is going to get busy.  I would like to give away two free copies of my cookbook to help with gearing up for the Fall.  Personally, my freezer is empty from the lazines and craziness of the summer.  It is time to stock my freezer again and get ready.  We will be stating dance lessons, music class, soccer, adult softball, preschool and 1st grade.  I’m feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment, but I know stocking my freezer will help.

From now until Monday Aug 23, I am giving away two free copies of  “Fabulous Freezer Meals: Over 200 Great-Tasting Recipes to Save Time and Money” published by Walnut Springs Press in Salt Lake City, Utah!  If you already have a copy, this book also would make a great wedding present or gift for someone you love so please enter.

Be your kids hero with Bento Boxes

Creativity with food is a talent I have always admired and wish I was better at.   The other night after blogging  about  school lunches,  I started researching more ideas on how to make Hello Kitty sandwiches for my 1st grader.   In my research I came across some fun ideas.  Have you ever heard of Bento Boxes?  The picture above came from this bento box blog.

Bento Box lunches are very famous in Japan.   The simplest definition of bento is that it is the Japanese word for a boxed lunch.

School Lunch Ideas.

My youngest is starting 1st grade and will be taking a school lunch with her every day to school.  She is an extreme introvert so I know by lunch time she will be exhausted and ready to come home.  I’m hoping school lunch will be like a giant hug from me to keep her going for a few more hours at school.  Any ideas you have to offer would be much appreciated.

I love their motto:

The real act of marriage takes place in the heart, not in the ballroom or church or synagogue. It’s the choice you make – not just on your wedding day, but over and over again –and that choice is reflected in the way you treat your husband or wife. -Barbara De Angelis
