Stock your freezer with a Honey Glazed Spiral Ham

What I love even more then a  turkey at Thanksgiving dinner is a savory, honey-glazed, spiral cut ham.  This ham comes pre-sliced (and often with the glaze) so all you have to do is bake it and slice it into large pieces to enjoy right away and stock  in your freezer for later.   One 8-10 lb ham will give you 15-20 servings!

Once in the freezer, I use the frozen cooked ham  in omelets,  sandwiches, salads,  soups, melted in tortillas with cheese for my kids,  etc..  I also love to combine the honey glazed ham with stuffing and green beans for a very fast and delicious dinner.  Mmmm, my mouth is watering as I think about this  tender, melt-in-your-mouth ham with a crusty sweet honey glaze.  I also love to serve this spiral cut ham when we have a large group for dinner with cheesy potatoes, rolls and red JELL-O salad.

Spiral Cut Ham

Yield: 12 cups cubed ham
8-10 pound spiral-cut ham
2 cups honey2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon ground cloves

Preheat oven to 275°F. Place ham, cut side up, in a shallow pan with 2 cups water. Cover pan with foil and place in oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Mix together the honey, mustard, and ground cloves, then pour evenly over the ham.

Increase oven temperature to 425°F. Bake ham uncovered for 5 minutes, then remove from oven.

Serve warm for dinner and bag up left overs to stock in your freezer.  I like to fill sandwich sized baggies with ham.  It is the perfect size for our small family of 2 adults and 3 children.
